The Cars Ready To Move In May

Details have slowly been coming out about the reunion of The Cars, and it looks like frontman Ric Ocasek and the band will be unleashing their super-long-awaited seventh album, dubbed Move Like This, in May.

It will be the first Cars album since 1987's Door To Door, and it will feature the original lineup of Ocasek, guitarist Elliot Easton, keyboardist Greg Hawkes and drummer David Robinson. Original bassist Benjamin Orr passed away in 2000.

Direct Current reports that the album will be out on May 10 via Concord Music, and the first single will be "Sad Song". It is still unclear when or if the group plans to hit the road in support of the album.

The Cars have been releasing snippets of new tunes via their Facebook page. In October, they posted a snippet of a song called "Blue Tip," and a one-minute clip of "Sad Song" was posted in December.

Most recently, they?ve posted about 90 seconds of a tune titled "Free," which definitely suggests a return to the classic Cars sound that fans know and love.
