Tweens should know that you don't need to be the most popular in Twitter to win a Grammy. Justin Bieber's aggressive fans launched an online attack on jazz artist Esperanza Spalding for winning the Best New Artist trophy at the Grammy Awards, which they think belongs to their 16-year-old idol. The Beliebers, who are mostly in the pre-teen to teen age group, are known to attack anyone who gets linked to the Canadian singer. Their victims have included Kim Kardashian, for joking that she's Justin's girlfriend, and Selena Gomez, who is rumored to be Justin's real girlfriend. And now, they are targeting Esperanza, a relatively unknown singer in the tween market. Esperanza won the Best New Artist award at the Grammy's on Sunday, the same category Justin was nominated in. The fans feel that Portland native robbed Justin of his award, with some of the tech-savvy Beliebers even resorting to hacking Esperanza's Wikipedia page and adding insults and taunts, such as "Justin Bieber deserved it go die in a hole. Who the heck are you anyway?" |
